About Rich

I’m a product designer with 7+ years of web and app experience. I’m based in Amsterdam and I’m passionate about delighting users and simplifying their lives. I come from a multimedia design background (animation, interaction design, graphic design), and have a range of skills to draw from when creating products. I love the concepts of iteration, invisible design and simplicity. Autonomy and collaboration are important to me, as is letting the best ideas win.

I’ve freelanced, worked at an agency, and have recently founded Studio Armstrong and Tap Tap Kaboom where I teach and work on personal projects.

I’ve won some awards (Loeries, CNMA, ADAA); come top of my design class at 2 different institutions; have a B.Tech. degree in Graphic Design; and have exhibited illustrations at group exhibitions;

I believe designers benefit from knowing how to code, have learned a few languages, and have taught others too – colleague training, one-on-one mentoring, and recently on Skillshare.
